Kirkland has long been a leader in the Puget Sound Region. We protected public access to our beautiful waterfront. We legalized middle housing. We established a coordinated and compassionate response to homelessness and behavioral health. We have led on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging - making Kirkland a more safe and welcoming place for everyone. But we still have more work to do. We can create housing choices that are more affordable for our children, young families, and seniors who want to remain in their communities. We can provide a wider variety of transportation options so everyone can get around safely and efficiently.

I believe Kirkland’s best days are still ahead! This year, our city faces a test as to whether we want to continue leading the way. I believe we are ready to embrace a future where everyone in our community can thrive. We have the opportunity to build on our successes, to boldly address our challenges, and to create an even brighter future for Kirkland. I am committed to leading with vision, determination, and a deep understanding of what makes our city great.
